The
Problem: One of the largest Japanese corporations needed
a new software platform, capable of supporting their emerging
business of content delivery to handsets, game consoles,
and other mobile devices. Because of the time-to-market
issues in this highly competitive industry, and the inherent
difficulty of assembling a seasoned development team, the
most logical next step was the acquisition of a company
that already employs this expertise.
The
Solution:
Extensive research identified a number
of potential acquisition candidates. Each of these alternatives
was screened and evaluated, based on the approved, customer
specific, requirements. After identifying the most promising
target in Europe, ChicagoAnalyticsTM conducted
a full due diligence assessment of the company. The effort
included interviews with management and technical employees,
hands-on verification of all technical and operational capabilities,
financial and legal review, and evaluation of the current
and past client base.
The
Benefit:
These findings were synthesized and presented
in a final due diligence report. ChicagoAnalyticsTM
had determined that the target company was a viable candidate
for acquisition at a certain price. This acquisition has
since been completed according the ChicagoAnalyticsTM
recommendation.
